Bath – no jokes about their bathing habits please

Day trip to Bath was interesting but very expensive for a train ticket. No wonder the English don’t like going for a bath. Bugger – I went against my own blog title.

The Roman Bath ancient site was very popular amongst every tourist who found their way past the big town shopping centre and every postcard shop.

I think the sign saying ‘No bombing in the shallow end !’ was perhaps unnecessary. After seeing the water colour and smelling the aroma of an ancient Roman bath, I guarantee no-one was going to step into that water let alone dive in to make a splash.

Another surprise today. Check the photo of a near empty park

Why you ask ? Because you have to pay to go in and use it. I kid you not.

I did not dare ask how much it would cost if I wanted to go in and use the toilet as well. After my Waterloo experience and this park, I fully get the user pays system.

Anyway, on a lighter note we finished the day in Bath having some fun in the kids playground which was free. I don’t think this is preparing them well for adult park experiences.

Unfortunately there are no photos of me on the ride as the police are quicker than I anticipated in Bath. And Kylie decided to negotiate on my behalf rather than take pictures. Happy days …… Add in a beer in a funky Bath Bar and all in all it made for a good day.
