Day trip to Oxford to learn as much as I could. But not even a tour guide could explain the silly statue heads in front of a theatre described as an architectural masterpiece.

i tried to track down a few old scholars to seek their counsel. Found them near a church but not forthcoming with much wisdom.

But I finally thought i was on the right track to all learning that is necessary …… When I found this street

And then success. On the banks of the Thames river, the place of learning for many young folk was discovered. An old English pub. Where no doubt Bob Hawke (the Rhodes scholar who gets a mention by the tour guide) no doubt completed most of his tutorials.

 

Final fun fact for the day. When walking across a park between college houses, the waft of marijuana smoke was noticed. Uni life …. Even in Oxford ….. Is alive and well.

Which could also explain the students favourite Chinese eating house that we drove past. Zoom in on the sign….

 

Back to London and then next stop ……..Portugal.
