If you guessed Port …… Then you are right …… Not a Port …….. But lots of Port ……. Lots and lots of Port. This is the home of fortified wine  and tawny port is the classic.

Enter the sandman (some will get the music reference here) ….. But it is the home of all tawny ports and the best advertised port in Portugal.

I tried to impress the locals with a story of on old soccer team mate from Albury ….. Who in his hey day ….. Went to a party with a 2ltr flagon of tawny port (it was off pay week). After consuming the whole flagon, he was the life of the party. Until he passed out ……
