Nope, I did not pick the right title at all. Tours is the place that you launch yourself into the Loire Valley. A region where anything and everything grows (but mostly grapes for good French wine) and where kings and other famous people throughout French history lived in some very incredible Chateaus.

After a while I stopped calling them castles, as it was upsetting guides, locals and chateau lovers who had travelled many miles to see them.

However I feel a little wronged, because a lot of definitions that I looked up had castle or fortress referenced along with being a residence of nobility.

You say Chateau …. I say Fancy Castle !!!

Anyway we plan to have a good look around Tours and the surrounding region has a lot to offer ….. A little one of interest is the home of the French Moto GP ….. Le Mans.

Some who sighted Kylie’s post for my birthday will recognise the next photo. We are off the the Moto GP.

Oh yeah …. I like visiting Tours.
