We arrived in Porto and there was no sun to begin with. Rain and a crazy trip in a taxi. Nothing like landing in Portugal and being in a Mercedes taxi watching the speedo hit 140. It was no autobahn, so lots of ……….. oh shit moments ………?… when sudden braking for cars doing the speed limit. I thought about practicing my five minute learning of Portuguese and talking about FC Porto beating Bayern Munich in the champions league football. But then thought better to just stay quiet and hang on.

But the buildings are definitely colourful……..

 

Hotel was an old theatre. Nice room but very dark everywhere ………. so my drink and food orders turned out interesting. Might be due for that post 50 eyesight test when I return.

Will try not to post too many pictures of old tiled buildings and monuments of kings  ……….. But Porto is full of them. So next few days of posts will challenge me.

just in case I cannot find anything interesting over the next few days, I will post a couple of  building photos now ……..
