What else could madrid teach me ?

A simple question ……… But so many answers related to great food, good beers and even better Sangria.

We enjoyed so many tapas dishes and refreshments at every time of the day.

A special treat one day was churros at. A famous place called 1902. If I need to explain this, then you need to discover the world of Spanish wonders that are contained in a churros.

Although I did discover through experimenting that the cup of chocolate is only for dipping the churros ……. It is not for drinking.

The not so happy looks came from not only Kylie….. But also the ‘well dressed and serious about their churros’ staff serving us. Oh well, learning is part of travelling.

We found a market pictured below that is dedicated to sampling anything and everything. And to answer the question ………. Yes we indulged …… Not to excess …… Just enough to sample almost all the flavours of Spain …… Besides walking about 20km in a day surely deserves tapas and beers to keep you going.

Here is the market in case you end up in Madrid one day. Just a slight coincidence that it is the market of Saint Michael. An even greater coincidence that there is a beer named after Saint Michael. I like Spain ……….. and I think Spain likes me.

Ok ……. So I have been sidetracked. The main lesson of this post is that you need to be prepared to sample all different things. And especially Dutch beer while in Spain. Please refer to the feature photo. As if 500ml cans of beer are not big enough ……. This one had another 14% of free beer added in. And the can only cost .56 Euro. I will let you do the conversion.

Anyway after a long walk home from the market ……. And a quick stop to pose for a photo …….

……… I was happy to have just one beer and call it a day.
